What is the deal with sauteed mushrooms and where did real Italian go?

Listen, everyone has their own tastes but for me that taste is I hate mushrooms. Yet, if I'm going to a restaurant that is a step above Olive Garden, I have a menu where everything has mushrooms in it. What is it about mushrooms that makes this crap 30 dollars a plate? I just want a burger or some pasta. And speaking of pasta, remember when you used to be able to get spaghetti and meat. Well not anymore. Everything is balsamic vinaigrette or pesto. I hear it is those San Francisco and wine country snobs who are ruining this for everyone. I just want a fat Italian woman cooking me some red pasta sauce and a fat hairy guy cooking me a burger with any kind of cheese and bacon on it. Higher prices should just be higher quality, not necessarily add a couple ingredients that usually aren't in something.
