Should we bring our 5 month old to a family gathering if we know someone there has shingles?

Your child cannot get shingles from the family member but he/she can get the chickenpox. For this to happen your child would have to come in direct contact with the rash. Just don't allow this individual to handle the baby and all should be fine.
