Interesting fundraising ideas?

Hi - I am embarking on a 6 month volunteer scheme in March, and part of the project is to do some fundraising (�600) in your local area to raise awareness of the charity before you go. I would like to do something a bit unusual, not the clic sponsored run / silence etc; or perhaps make something people would like to buy - I would like the people who give me money to get something out of it as well if possible. Has anyone got any good ideas? Thanks!
